Welcome to Makali. These Terms & Conditions govern every booking made through this website. By reserving a stay you agree to the terms below.
Last updated: 24 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to direct accommodation bookings made through makali.villas with PT Hutan Hijau Harmonis (“Makali”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By completing a booking, the person making the reservation confirms that they have the legal capacity and authority to enter into the booking agreement and accept these Terms & Conditions on behalf of themselves and all guests included in the reservation.
1. Bookings and Payment
Full payment is required at the time of booking unless different payment terms are clearly stated before payment.
A reservation is confirmed only once full payment has been successfully received.
Prices, applicable taxes, mandatory fees and the total amount payable will be displayed to the guest before the booking is confirmed and payment is completed.
Any specific rate conditions, promotional conditions or other booking terms displayed before payment form part of the booking agreement. Where booking-specific conditions differ from these general Terms & Conditions, the booking-specific conditions will apply to that reservation.
2. Cancellation Policy
Our standard cancellation terms depend on the length of the reservation.
Stays of 1–6 nights
A cancellation is eligible for a refund when received at least 7 full days (168 hours) before the scheduled check-in time.
Cancellations received less than 7 full days before the scheduled check-in time are non-refundable.
Stays of 7 nights or more
A cancellation is eligible for a refund when received at least 21 full days (504 hours) before the scheduled check-in time.
Cancellations received less than 21 full days before the scheduled check-in time are non-refundable.
All cancellation deadlines are calculated from the scheduled check-in time shown in the booking confirmation and use Bali local time (WITA / UTC+8).
If a booking is made after the applicable cancellation deadline has already passed, the booking is non-refundable from the time it is confirmed.
Further details are set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.
3. Non-Refundable Promotions
Certain promotional rates, coupon codes or special offers may be offered on a non-refundable basis.
A booking will only be treated as non-refundable under this provision where the non-refundable condition is clearly disclosed to the guest before payment.
Where a guest selects or applies a rate, coupon or promotion identified as non-refundable, those specific conditions take precedence over the standard cancellation terms above.
4. Refunds
Where a cancellation qualifies for a refund, the refundable amount will consist of the accommodation or booking amount paid, less any non-refundable fees that were clearly disclosed before payment.
Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method.
Refund processing will normally be initiated within 7–14 business days following approval. The time required for the funds to appear in the guest's account may vary depending on the payment provider, card issuer or financial institution.
5. Booking Changes
Requests to change booking dates, shorten a stay, extend a stay or otherwise modify a reservation may be accepted subject to:
- accommodation availability;
- any difference in the applicable rate;
- any additional charges that may apply; and
- approval by Makali.
Approval of a modification request is not guaranteed.
Where the rate applicable to revised dates or an extended stay is higher, the guest may be required to pay the difference before the change is confirmed.
An approved shortening or other modification of a stay does not automatically entitle the guest to a refund for unused nights. Any applicable refund, credit or adjustment will be confirmed as part of the approved modification.
A booking modification is not effective until confirmed by Makali.
6. No-Shows and Early Departures
If a guest does not arrive for a confirmed reservation, the booking will be treated as a no-show and will be non-refundable.
If a guest chooses to leave before the confirmed check-out date after their stay has commenced, unused nights are non-refundable.
7. Check-In and Check-Out
The applicable check-in and check-out times for each reservation will be stated in the booking confirmation.
Guests are required to provide a valid government-issued identification document or passport at check-in for verification purposes.
8. Security Deposit and Damage
A refundable security or damage deposit may be collected at check-in. The applicable amount and method of collection will be communicated before or at check-in.
The deposit will be refundable following check-out once the property has been inspected, subject to deductions for reasonable and documented costs arising from matters including:
- damage to the property or its contents;
- lost or missing items;
- excessive cleaning requirements; or
- other valid charges arising from a breach of the booking terms or applicable property rules.
The security deposit does not limit a guest's responsibility for damage or loss. Where reasonable and documented costs exceed the security deposit, the guest remains responsible for the additional amount.
9. Number of Guests
The reservation applies to the number of guests declared at the time of booking.
Any additional guests require prior approval from Makali. Additional charges may apply where applicable.
Maximum occupancy requirements and other property-specific restrictions must be observed.
10. House Rules
Guests must comply with any property-specific house rules communicated through the property listing, booking confirmation or information provided for the stay.
These rules may differ between properties and form part of the conditions of the reservation.
11. Transfer of a Booking
A reservation may not be transferred to another person, and the lead guest may not be changed, without prior approval from Makali.
Any approved transfer or name change remains subject to the original booking terms unless otherwise confirmed in writing.
12. If We Cannot Provide the Booked Accommodation
If Makali is unable to provide the confirmed accommodation for reasons other than circumstances covered by the force majeure provision below, we may offer the guest suitable alternative accommodation.
The guest is not required to accept the alternative accommodation.
If no suitable alternative is offered or the guest does not accept the proposed alternative, the amount paid for the affected booking will be refunded.
13. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
Circumstances outside the reasonable control of either party may affect the ability to provide or use the booked accommodation. These may include natural disasters, severe weather events, government restrictions, significant infrastructure or utility failures, or similar events beyond reasonable control.
Where such circumstances materially affect a reservation, Makali will assess the circumstances and may, as appropriate, offer an alternative property, revised dates, booking credit, partial or full refund, or another reasonable solution.
The appropriate remedy will depend on the circumstances and any rights or obligations arising under applicable law.
14. Guest Cancellations and Communications
Cancellation requests must be submitted either:
- through the online booking system, where cancellation functionality is available; or
- by email to reservations@makali.villas.
For the purpose of determining cancellation eligibility, a cancellation takes effect when the request is received through one of these channels.
Guests should retain confirmation that their cancellation request was submitted.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms & Conditions and direct bookings made with PT Hutan Hijau Harmonis are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.
Where a dispute arises, the parties should first attempt to resolve the matter through direct communication in good faith.
Where a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute may be referred to the competent courts or other competent dispute-resolution authorities in Indonesia in accordance with applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
16. Changes to These Terms
The Terms & Conditions applicable to a reservation are those made available to the guest at the time the booking is completed.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time for future bookings. Any updated version will be published on our website.
